Meeting of spring calling of birds with English friends
The first spring warmth and bright sunshine greeted friends of “Revival” Centre from the UK.
This year's visit was not too long, but very emotional. Seven members of the British charity "Felsted Aid for Deprived Children" headed by Alan Hilliar and Pauline Craven delivered to the center another humanitarian convoy of three cars and two trailers.
Humanitarian cargo has long been waiting for, with so many important things for the rehabilitation and stuff: office stationary, sanitary items, didactic games and materials for children, clothing, shoes and many more. Brought also long-awaited and much-needed lift for the future swimming-pool.
During the tour around the center particularly impressed the scale of the new building. Last visit, in October, was only dugged the pit for the new building, and now is already covered roof, attached new building with nice and bright halls and rooms, renovated kitchen, ending the construction of the pool. There is a still lot of work, but English friends were delighted to see what is already done.
The British actively communicated with the visitors of the center, with pleasure photographed everything seen to report to their strong team of volunteers from the UK who support center with constant help.
Traditionally visited eight families with children with severe disabilities.
Also our English friends were very interested in Ukrainian culture. They gladly visited Chernihiv Regional Philharmonic Center and watched a concert of Ukrainian music performed by Chernihiv Chapel of Bandurists of Ostap Veresai. Artistic staff in their native land is famous for the fact of love of Shevchenko word and that preserves national traditions and the art of ensemble is covered by invincible force of Cossack spirit.
But this was not the end of the adventurous and exciting experience for English friends. Very special was their meeting with the children, on the eve of leaving home. Nature and good weather helped to create the good friendly atmosphere, high spirits and sense of unity. The organizers chose a playground in the courtyard of the center as a scene for the concert.
There was basic communication with the British, and their involvement in the joint celebration of the ancient Ukrainian holiday. Children together with teachers presented a concert program dedicated to Ukrainian national rite of spring and the calling of birds. There were children circle dances, freckles, ceremonial songs.
For feathered friends hung together two birdhouses, one - brought by the British, another one - made with children in the classroom in the woodwork room.
The respectful delegation had fun and sang Ukrainian melodies and talented children awarded the center with loud applause and laughter.
In addition, Laletina Nastya, the patient of the Center and the ward of Alan’s team, this time received from foreigners special new wheelchair and gladly demonstrated its opportunities on the dance floor during the concert.
One of the brightest moments of the meeting was the presentation of one of the British. A teacher by profession Charles surprised and bewitched children with the original genre - tricks.
Positive emotions of children knew no bounds! Their faces shone with happiness and joy. At the end of his show his friends and Charles himself awarded each child with a toy made of balloons.
Meeting with the British became a holiday not only for children but also for their parents and at the end of the event wished to sing inflammatory and humorous Ukrainian songs and amused the audience.
It was a real treat. Finally, each participant received a ceremonial feast-bird cookies and other sweets.
It was sad to say goodbye, but these days of communication brought a sense of spiritual improvement, pride and joy to all who come to our center to visit, everyone noted amazing atmosphere, full of goodness, sincerity, compassion.
We are grateful to our foreign friends who every day make a very important thing - gather aid and attract more people to this noble job. Delighted that these sincere, good people find the time and opportunity to help us, and give to our children warm their hearts.
