On December 6 Chernihiv visited First Lady of Ukraine - Marina Poroshenko. Her arrival was timed to the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

 Maryna’s Day in Chernihiv was busy - she met with families in Chernihiv who’s men-soldiers were killed during fighting in eastern Ukraine, members of NGOs, participated in the events and celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the end of her visit to Chernihiv Marina Poroshenko with the heads of the city and region visited our Center.

Director of the Center - Pasichnyk Vasily got aquainted honorable guests with the history and structure of the institution, the organization of the rehabilitation process, led the tour.

 Maryna inspected rehabilitation offices interested in the medical aspects of rehabilitation, because she is a specialist in the medical field - cardiologist, PhD.

The guests noted good base of rehabilitation Center. Especially were strucked by neurorehabilitation system of virtual reality "Nirvana". This is the first in the world non-markers system that provides a full sensory immersion (acoustic and visual) in virtual reality and represents a range of stimulating exercises aimed at correction of movement disorders, coordination and balance, tactile, and proprioceptive sensory stimulation. Maryna could not resist and tried with the children the exercises. 

First Lady talked to patients and their parents. Primarily interested impressions of the stay in the Centre and the results of rehabilitation.

Mom of the patient of rehabilitation department Ilya Bliznyuk - Galina shared with Maryna their history of rehabilitation at the Center with her son, spoke about the results and expressed gratitude to the management and staff for their support and assistance, noted the high professionalism of specialists at this establishment.

In memory of the visit to the Center, Bliznyk Galina gave the Lady an excellent clay doll in Ukrainian garb, made by herself at the clay therapy classroom.

Continuing the theme of effectiveness of rehabilitation, Vasily presented the examples of the famous patients of the Centre. First of all, the 20-year-old Yaroslav Bykh, who’s got paralyzed hand in his childhood. At the 9 months of age he got his first rehabilitation at the Centre. Now he is a well known pianist, trained at the Conservatory. In 2013 he won the International Piano Competition in Frankfurt. Another patient of the Centre, 26-year-old Anya Lomakina, despite serious illness, is writing poems and doing paintings. On the eve of the International Day of Disabled People was held an exhibition of her paintings, and scenes of the Regional Philharmonic Center heard her poems. Center is proud of the creative and assertive patients.

At the end of the meeting the First Lady discussed with the leadership current issues of reconstruction and construction of new facilities, as well as prospects for the development of the Centre. Noted high European level of rehabilitative care, which is provided for children in our institution and expressed her positive impression of the visit.

Vasily invited the honourable guest for the opening of the new building planned for early summer next year. "See you soon" - promised the President's wife.
