The Revival Center celebrated two anniversaries: the 25th anniversary of the Revival Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities

15th anniversary of the municipal institution "Regional Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities" Revival "Chernihiv Regional Council

On June 25, the center hosted celebrations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Revival Rehabilitation Center and the 15th anniversary of the Regional Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities " Revival ". All these years, the Center takes care of children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and conducts their comprehensive rehabilitation. Both institutions accept about 200 children for rehabilitation every day, and another 52 seriously ill children are under home care. The Center has created all the necessary conditions for their full and comprehensive rehabilitation.

The center is also known abroad: children from the Baltics, Macedonia, Poland and Spain were treated here. The treatment process is based on the "Tandem" model, approved by the World Health Organization. This experience was positively assessed by specialists of the Ministries of Ukraine dealing with the problems of children with disabilities and experts of the UN Children's Fund UNICEF.

Many friends came to congratulate the Center on the anniversary: ​​Deputy Head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration - Duma Olena Oleksiivna; Deputy Chairman of the Chernihiv Regional Council - Lemesh Nina Petrovna, Deputy Chairman of the Chernihiv City Council - Fesenko Serhiy Ivanovych; director of the regional branch of the Fund for Social Protection of the Disabled - Los Iryna Ivanivna, director of the municipal non-profit enterprise "Children's Polyclinic №2" of the Chernihiv City Council Ovsienko Lyudmyla Volodymyrivna and others.

For the anniversary of the center, children together with teachers and parents prepared a small concert program. And the invited government officials greeted the staff with awards for conscientious long-term work. During the celebrations, it was noted that the Center was and remains one of the leaders among rehabilitation institutions in our country. The services that children receive meet all national and international quality requirements. This is the merit of the management, a team of highly qualified specialists, high-level professionals who are in constant search of improving rehabilitation services. The Center has significant professional potential, acquired and preserved experience. Here they maintain partnership relations with many centers of Ukraine and abroad, and are interested in establishing further business contacts, building friendly relations on the principles of partnership and mutual understanding.

Olena Duma, Deputy Head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, thanked Vasyl Pasichnyk, the center's staff and the director of the utility, who founded such a progressive center for comprehensive assistance, for their daily hard work.

— Your center gives children the opportunity not just to adapt and socialize in society, but to feel really needed, to realize themselves in life. And it is also a help to exhausted parents who have found the strength to fight the child's illness, - said Elena Duma. - May the love and warmth that children feel, never leave your hearts and continue to fill these walls with home comfort.

Having highly appreciated the quality level of comprehensive rehabilitation, the Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration handed over a certificate for 15,000 hryvnias to Vasyl Pasichnyk for the needs of the institution, and sweets to the children of the center.

The congratulations were joined by the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council Nina Lemesh and the Deputy Chairman of the Chernihiv City Council Serhiy Fesenko. They warmly congratulated the staff and parents on the anniversary and assured that the city and regional authorities have supported and will always support the Center in its noble social activities. They wished the friendly staff of the Center not to stop and go to new achievements, but the institution of prosperity and long existence, because its activities are very necessary for families with special children.

The history of the center begins with the creation of a public organization, which included influential people of Chernihiv. And all the years of its activity the Center has been supported and helped by foreign friends-helpers and philanthropists, the regional branch of the fund for social protection of the disabled, regional and city authorities. People's deputies and concerned people from other countries have repeatedly invested their own funds. They helped to create modern conditions for rehabilitation, constantly provided financial assistance. The biggest part of funds for the development of the Center was provided by charitable organizations from Great Britain, Belgium, and the United States of America.

After the results shown by the organization for 10 years, at the regional level it was decided to create a municipal institution on its basis. Thus, the non-governmental center "Revival" was extended in the form of a state rehabilitation center at the regional level.

As of today, the Center has 12 uninterrupted operations, including a round-the-clock stay, where many modern rehabilitation methods and programs are implemented. In addition, a palliative care unit has been operating on the basis of the center since July 2017.

The range of areas of rehabilitation is constantly expanding. Highly qualified doctors, speech therapists, psychologists, nurses, educators, social workers come to this unique institution every day, where children do not feel disadvantaged, and do everything to improve their health, teach new social skills, help realize their abilities, fully or partially integrate into public life and feel like normal citizens of their state.

During the visit to the Center, the guests inspected the department of the center and rehabilitation equipment.

Through their efforts and work, the staff of the Center proves that there are no children who cannot be taught. Here they receive treatment, draw, make soft toys, dance and sing, learn social skills (dress, cook, take care of themselves in everyday life). Some then go to regular kindergartens and schools. For the parents of such children, this is the way to a full-life future.
